There are two ways to import leads Carrrot:
- Through the interface;
- Via Rest API.
Things you need to do before leads import
- Check lead quota
Imported leads considered in Carrrot unique leads quota. Make sure that you will not exceed the quota after leads importing.
You can do it in Payment tab:
What happens when unique leads quota is exceeded? Read in this article.
- Make email validation
If you are going to send emails to these leads we would recommend you to make email validation. It will help you to avoid high bounce rate (when emails do not reach addressees) and keep you from being accused in spam by mail services.
You can use any service. We prefer https://www.emaillistverify.com/ During our use of this service bounce rate didn't exceed 3%.
- Divide your base
You can import no more than 4000 leads at once. Divide your lead base if it is bigger.
- Create import attribute (optional)
Advise: In order to find all imported leads easily add an attribute with import date. If you are importing via interface, add an "Import" column to the table and add data to the cells. All imported leads will have an attribute with the date of import. It will help you to configure segmentation easily and select only the right leads.
If something went wrong during import you can delete leads.
- Import via the interface (coming soon)
If you want to import your leads, please contact us and we'll do it for you!
- Import via Rest API
You can import your lead base into our service via Rest API as well. Read more about API here.
Important! You need to refrain from a synchronous API call during leads import, because it can cause load on our system and your token will be blocked. The optimal number is 2-3 per second.
